Marvel Star Kumail Nanjiani Finally Addresses Wild Rumor That He Had Affair With Michelle Obama! 

One celebrity is finally speaking about that wild rumor with Michelle Obama!

You may recall that the former first lady and her husband, Barack Obama, faced divorce rumors for a while. It really picked up when the ex-president attended several events without her this year, including the second inauguration for Donald Trump. Many took her absences as a sign that the couple is heading for divorce. A few bizarre rumors also started circulating online, including that Barack cheated on Michelle with Jennifer Aniston, which the actress shot down on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The other one? It wasn’t the politician who cheated, but his wife! And allegedly with Kumail Nanjiani! What?! Where are people coming up with this stuff?

Well, Kumail is setting the record straight. The Marvel star has NEVER had an affair with Michelle! In fact, he has never even met her! He addressed the speculation on Thursday’s episode of the So True With Caleb Hearon podcast, saying:

“There was a rumor going around last year that I was having an affair with Michelle Obama.”

Caleb interjected to exclaim:

“Congratulations!”

LOLz! According to Kumail, his wife Emily Gordon first heard the chatter from a friend:

“I know, I was so excited. My friend – our mutual friend – pulled Emily aside and was like, ‘Hey, I heard that Kumail and Michelle Obama are like doing it.’”

Sometimes, someone hearing about your hubby hooking up with another woman would send them into a rage. However, the Eternals alum said his wife wasn’t “upset” at the time. Phew. Kumail added that “multiple people brought it up to me” from there. But the rumors aren’t true! The stand-up comedian clarified:

“I never met Michelle Obama.”
