Jeffree Star's Half-Assed Apology For Deportation Jokes Makes It All SO Much Worse!!! THIS Is His Defense?!?

Jeffree Star is unbothered by the backlash! He doesn’t think he did anything that bad!

If you missed it, Jeffree is under fire for so-called jokes he made during a TikTok livestream on Monday about Latinos, deportation, and ICE. They were just so uncalled for and extremely unfunny. Unfortunately, he’s not that sorry about it!

Hear the jokes (below) if you haven’t already.

After hitting back at the controversy in social media comments, he took to TikTok Live on Tuesday, expressing:

“I love everybody, I really do. I know, you guys, I say dumb s**t all the time. We made so many f**ked up jokes last night about so many other subjects. Y’all didn’t clip anything from there. You chose to nitpick one little second.”

Umm, what kind of defense is that?? It’s not a flex to be making that many controversial comments, and it doesn’t make these jokes any less upsetting!

That said, Jeffree understands he pissed off a lot of folks, he added:

“I’m not saying it wasn’t insensitive or f**ked up. Hello, I’m over waving my hand. Hi, I’m waving the white flag. I get it, bitch.”

Elsewhere in the stream, the makeup guru argued viewers are taking it too seriously, saying:

“I don’t think making a five-second offensive joke on livestream means that I should end my life. If you guys really think that than I think there’s a bigger issue here.”

Now that’s something we can agree on.

The content creator went on to let himself off the hook for the jokes, suggesting it’s fine because he has a Latino BFF. He continued:

“I love everybody, you guys. I may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but I love everybody. I’m just here to inspire the world to be yourself and to make people laugh. We bantered all night last night. One of my best friends is literally full-blooded Latino. His name’s Paul, his beautiful wife is Jen, and they’re literally the representation of a beautiful Latina family, so girl stop.”

He pointed out his “best friend laughed,” adding he’s “not justifying anything at all.”

Hitting back at a viewer who claimed he was “too old to be joking like that,” Jeffree argued:

“Girl, Joan Rivers was 75 making dark humor [jokes].”

And when someone else encouraged him to “just be empathetic [because] there’s people suffering,” he replied:

“Oh, I fully understand that, baby, that has nothing to do with what’s going on in the real world. When we’re on TikTok Live and this little screen is going, this isn’t the real world, this is people’s escapes to laugh and get away from all of the news and the darkness of the world. So, I understand, we’re in very sensitive times and I said something very f**ked up. I did and it’s my deepest sincere apologies to anyone that took it the wrong way or thought it was awful or ugly. I get it. I fully get it. A lot of people come on my livestreams to laugh and to escape reality.”

WTF kind of apology is that? This is all the more reason to not make insensitive jokes like these! If he doesn’t want to bring “real world” problems and stresses into his content, he should steer clear of political commentary. Ugh.
