Nancy Guthrie's Uber Driver From Night Of Disappearance Interviewed -- Details
[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content]
The disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie, has taken another somber turn as investigators continue to retrace her final known movements in Tucson, Arizona.
At a press conference on Thursday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed detectives have interviewed the Uber driver who transported Nancy to a family dinner the night before she vanished.
It’s a detail that sounds mundane on paper, but in cases like this, every ordinary moment suddenly feels loaded with importance: who she saw, where she went, how she got there. All of it matters.

Nanos explained to reporters that the ride in question took Nancy to her daughter’s home for dinner, a routine family gathering that ended without any indication that something was about to go terribly wrong.
In his own words, the sheriff addressed the driver’s role directly:
“We did speak to a driver, because Nancy, we learned, had been taken [in] the Uber to the family residence [of] the daughter, for dinner, and we located that driver and spoke with them and got that information.”
Nanos later made it clear to CNN and other outlets that the Uber driver is NOT considered a suspect and is not believed to be involved in Nancy’s disappearance in any way. We don’t know if cops got any other substantive information from the driver that they could possibly use — or, if that person didn’t see anything out of the ordinary and couldn’t help.
Regardless, the fact that investigators are methodically checking every piece of Nancy’s timeline underscores how fragile and urgent this search has become.
According to the sheriff, Nancy was driven home from that dinner by family members around 9:48 p.m. on Saturday. That is the last confirmed sighting of her. Since then, there’s been nothing. No confirmed movements. No answers. Just an expanding void that law enforcement and loved ones are desperately trying to fill.
It’s all just so crushing. Our hearts continue to go out to Savannah and the entire rest of the Guthrie family during this absolutely unimaginable ordeal…
A tip line has been set up: see HERE. The FBI has offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie, and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.
