Nicole Kidman Reveals SHOCKING Amount She Was Paid For That Iconic AMC Ad!

Nicole Kidman had nothing but the “purest intentions” while filming THAT iconic ad.

Over the last several years, the Oscar-winning actress has become synonymous with AMC Theatres. It ain’t a true theatre experience if you don’t sit down, wait for the lights to dim, and anticipate the projector rolling footage of Nicole at an AMC location in a shiny pinstripe suit talking about how “heartbreak feels good in a place like this.” Ch-ch-check out her iconic ad to promote the theatre chain (below):

The ad quickly permeated pop culture for several reasons… We mean, it’s NICOLE FREAKING KIDMAN! Also, it plays in front of, like, EVERY movie. SNL has parodied it, fans have used her look as inspo for Halloween costumes, and it’s offered up a whole host of quotes. It’s safe to say AMC has gotten a LOT of exposure from it. So Nicole must have charged a pretty penny to star in it, right?

The 58-year-old appeared on Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she offered some behind-the-scenes info on the making of the ad, spilling:

“The weirdest thing about that was we literally … I had no idea that thing was going to work, and we did it out of the purest of intentions. Bill Ray, who’s a writer friend of mine, I called him up and said, ‘Should we do this? We need to help the theaters. It’s COVID,’ it was during COVID when we did it.”

A ROUGH time for theaters, no doubt. At the time, Nicole was shooting Being the Ricardos and asked the crew if they’d be down to shoot the ad:

“And the crew that I was working with on Being the Ricardos, I said, ‘Would you guys be willing to do this?’ and Jeff Cronenweth, who was the [director of photography], he was like, ‘I’ll direct it’ — called in all these favors.”

So how much did she make?? Well, the Aussie actress revealed she truly did it out of the kindness of her heart:

“We did it for nothing, and then it went off.”

Wow!!!

She added:

“Thank you and thank you for supporting cinemas. So good.”

That’s actually REALLY cool! It shows how much she loves her craft!
