Will & Grace Actor Corey Parker Dead At 60 After Cancer Battle
It’s a sad day for Will & Grace fans.
It’s with heavy hearts we report Corey Parker, known for his recurring role as Grace (Debra Messing’s) boyfriend Josh on the beloved sitcom, has sadly passed away at just 60 years old. On Saturday, Corey’s aunt Emily Parker confirmed the news to TMZ, revealing the actor passed away in Memphis, Tennessee after a battle with cancer.
Emily did not clarify what type of cancer Corey had, but a GoFundMe set up in his name revealed he was battling advanced stage 4 metastatic cancer. On February 17, Corey offered fans a tragic update on the fundraising service:
“I want to update everyone regarding my terminal cancer. The radiation that was intended to reduce the pain from the cancer in my arm and in my hips did help to reduce the pain in those areas but also impacted my esophagus, my ability to speak and my overall orientation. It is hard for me to text and not easy to formulate speech. We have started to prepare the house for the time when we will begin hospice care. My little bichon has hardly left my side.”

He continued:
“The generosity and care that everyone has shown me and my family has meant everything. All of the help with the medical bills from the time we first went to the hospital without insurance to keeping us able to pay the current health care costs now has been such a blessing. The current health insurance monthly premium is $1485, so the generous outpouring of love and support from everyone has allowed us to keep up our payments. The Door Dash and Uber Eats cards have helped keep food coming to the house while Angela still works and continues to care for me full time. I cannot thank you enough for all of the love and care. Your donations have made such a huge difference in our life and have allowed me to rest a little easier knowing that our needs are being met even while I can no longer have income.”
According to the GoFundMe, Corey went in for a hip replacement surgery before his cancer was discovered. And despite being a “proud member of SAG for 45+ years,” he “became recently ineligible for his SAG insurance, leaving his family to face the overwhelming cost of treatment without coverage.”
So, so sad. But what a beautiful community that has come together to support him.
Corey was beloved by many as he offered Zoom acting classes with personalized instruction. In addition to Will & Grace, Corey was also known for appearances in Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning, Nashville, Blue Skies, and more.
Our hearts go out to his loved ones during this difficult time. Rest in peace.
