Former Turnstile Guitarist Charged With Attempted MURDER After Allegedly Running Over Ex-Bandmate’s Dad!
Turnstile fans, we have shocking news for you…
On Monday, founding band guitarist Brady Ebert was arrested in Silver Spring, Maryland… for ATTEMPTED MURDER!!!
WTF?!
In charging documents obtained by People, it was revealed that Montgomery County police officers responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a moving car at a residential address on Monday. The victim in question? William Yates, the 79-year-old father of Turnstile band member Brendan Yates. According to the documents, family members informed officers the elder had been intentionally struck by “a neighbor and past friend of the family.”
Holy s**t…

William’s daughter went on to allege that Brady was the one behind the wheel of the car that struck her father, claiming he pulled up out front while she was with her husband and children and started “honking his horn at them and yelling obscenities.” According to her, Brady left, but soon returned, prompting her to grab her 3-year-old son to avoid being hit. William ended up being struck and left with “severe trauma to both of his legs.”
A detective on the case visited the family in the hospital, where it came up that Brady, who grew up down the street from Brendan, had “been causing issues” for the family since he left the band in 2022:
“William Yates advised that Brady Ebert has been taunting them for a long time but that his behavior has been escalating.”
According to the docs, Brady returned to the scene after striking William and claimed he “deserved it.”
WTF.
Brady was later found at a nearby shopping center, where he was arrested and charged with two felonies: attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault. Yikes!
Brady appeared before a judge on Thursday for a hearing. He’s being represented in court by lawyer Andrew D. Alpert.
Turnstile members, including lead singer Brendan, guitarists Pat McCrory and Meg Mills, bassist Franz Lyons, and drummer Daniel Fang, revealed to Rolling Stone on Thursday that they “cut ties” with Brady in 2022 “in response to a consistent pattern of harmful behavior affecting himself, the band, and the community.” They said:
“After exhausting every available resource to support his access to help and recovery, a boundary ultimately had to be set when healthy communication was no longer possible and he began threatening violence. In the years since, his baseless tirades have continued in public. We never addressed it. We chose to protect his privacy and the circumstances around his departure, even when he did nothing to be deserving of that protection. Over the past few months, his threats only escalated further.”
The statement continued:
“This past week, that violence led to a physical attack when Brady went to the house of Brendan’s parents and used his vehicle to run over Brendan’s father, causing severe physical trauma. We are grateful that Mr. Yates survived, has successfully undergone surgery, and we’re hoping for the best possible outcome in his recovery. We have no language left for Brady. Please respect our privacy in this time.”
Wow.
In the wake of his departure, Brady joined musical group The S.E.T. , but was fired in February of this year. The band announced at the time they “will not stand by his ridiculous comments and behavior toward the members of our band and our community.”
We hope William makes a full recovery! So scary!
